Advice on storage systems and European trip needed

Hi all
I am planning a European trip and would like some kind of storage system for the boot area. i will not need the 3rd row seats so that is not a problem.

I was wondering if any of you have used something, perhaps those who went to Morocco or have done similar trips for a few weeks at a time.

I would also like to be quite self sufficient in the D3. I'm looking at getting a rack and roof tent from Frogs Island and obviosuly carrying self recovery equipment, but what other stuff would you hardened explorers recommend I take with me? Likewise what have you taken with you that you wouldn't bother with the next time?

There won't be any serious off roading so c'mon guys give me a reason to go and spend some dosh on things for my D3. After all if it comes with a recommendation from you peeps on this site then SWMBO surely must give approval - shouldn't she????

The rough route we will be taking is as follows -
We will be travelling down through that there French France, Geneva, Mont Blanc, through the Gran Paradiso NP, Genoa, down as far as Naples, then to Venice, Lake Como up through Switzerland, back through Germany, Holland and catching the ferry to Hull and back to sunny Doncaster.

Any advice or comments on this route would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris Tyler is the person to consult. He has a very neat solution in the back of his, including Microwave!
