With respect, that's because he owns one of them...........
That's a bit of contradiction. you surely can't have a club, which should be run by a elected committee on behalf of members and have it owned by someone.
CG thts what I pointed out earlier.
Thanks for the post TFC.
I have been a member of this forum for some time and am dismayed at some of the comments on this thread.
Some personal comments have been made with no right of reply.
There are many assumptions being made about motive here. Martin started this thread and did not seem to have a problem with the Disco3 club.
If these attitudes continue it will be to the detrement of this site.

For clarity, my point was about the two forums. The relationship between the new club and the new forum is not clear; I am sure everything will become obvious when they officially launch.

Firstly I have no real issues either way about another forum being started, it isn't the first and it wont be the last either.
Have to agree with some of what 10four£ said though. Martin's method of extracting cash is having a detrimental effect on the forum in my opinion. Pulling threads left and right, the whole sponsor/advertiser saga played out on the forum coronation street style, ebay links to bargains pulled etc etc
How about posting the actual cost of site hosting (which is not going to more than two grand a year tops) and a target for the year to be raised in the header frame etc? If you are trying to make a living out of it, which is fair enough of course, then come clean and say that. If that is the case a rethink of your cash extraction method is needed that doesn't result in this weird modding system.
Heavy handed modding, although recently changed for the better to stop the crazy ninja editing, wont help at all.
Yes this forum has a lot of great posters and info giving their time and effort for free, nothing to stop them using other less onerous sites also.
It is also sad to see the usual protagonists trying to stir things up and make mileage out of it also.
For what its worth I think its a great resource just hope it can continue to be that.

So everyone agrees that using this forum to generate interest (and not inform people) in an event where all profits go to another is OK then ? Typical.

I know I am breaking my word and said I would'nt comment any further, but WTF!!!!!, The Hogmoor event was being argued about at the time of the banishment, and who was running it, we all posted to Martin asking for Neil's return, only now to find the event was being run HIS way, and HIS forum. I think it stinks that I battled his corner on here, and protested his banishment, and yet he has played us all.

With Reference to Simons Quote, the second entry says 33 registered attendees, the same as advertised on the forum at the same time, disgusting if you ask me. If you want to pay a membership to these guys that act this way is upto you, but with my money I would'nt trust them with the amount of rules already broken.
IMHO, them off, I feel used, and the decency would have been to let people know. They could'nt get their own way, so broke away cherry picking those that think the grass is greener.
This is'nt a sour taste on I was'nt chosen, nor a "theres no room for two, its fundamentally a kick in the teeth for those that battled for them.
I thank you

I know TFC's views, he was servicing mine last week. I agree with TFC too, we do need to re-address some clarification on certain things, but I aint a sponser/advertiser, or earn out of the forum, so dont need to comment do I.
TFC is a wealth of information, a top guy. BUT unless something on HERE is done soon, we will loose him, his input, and his postings. But that is something Martin must talk to him about.

There was a similar situation not so long back in the falconry forum/s community, where a new forum started up and it's policy is now,..........
The United Kingdom Falconry Club has been set up to help combat on going issues surrounding some open forums. We have members nationwide and are expanding to include membership from Europe and beyond. We currently have access to IAF representatives who offer their insights freely. As a club we also offer professional field meets across the UK and in the 2010 season will be accommodating everything from the diminutive Spar to the majesty of the Eagle.
Meets are open to all club members, along with full public liability insurance, 'The Chase' a monthly on-line ebook magazine with international and UK writers, club membership card, summer charity events, raffles and specialised falconry information from dog handlers, vets and professional breeders. The UKFC follows proper club procedures in a legal, transparent and professional manner. We will be seeking Hawkboard affiliation in the future and will be putting back into the sport by fund raisers for The Campaign for Falconry and other conservation projects, both here and abroad. Due to specialised membership, every falconer has to register with their correct details, be accountable on every post made, will be moderated fairly and any disputes will be dealt with evenly and seriously.
We will not tolerate any type of behaviour that brings falconry into disrepute and any member will be banned immediatedly and reported to the relevent authorities. As a club we seriously up-hold time honoured traditions and conduct. The UKFC is a club first and foremost, but one which is the first of it's kind to unite members through a forum. Come and visit us at the falconry fair or have a look on-line at www.ukfalconryforum.com thank you the UKFC Team
If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ by clicking the link above. You may have to register before you can post: click the register link above to proceed. To start viewing messages, select the forum that you want to visit from the selection below.
Welcome to the UK Falconers Forum. Every member of this forum pay a annual membership fee of £10.00. This is likely to cut down on people who create multiple Usernames just to cause trouble, it also means that every member has to register with their correct details and therefore gives accountability to every post they make. In order to join this forum and have full use of all its facilities please click on register on the top right of your screen. once subscribed you will have access to the uk falconry club, where you will have the option to join the new club, by doing so you will be covered with public liability, and have help and advice on hand 24/7, so come and join the newest club in the uk and enjoy falconry. people who choose to register but not subscribe will after a limited amount of time be restricted to not being able to view what is going on and they will be removed.
And certainly not before my amber led's are wired in hey Ian... Badda bing.......How you doin'?

Just so you all can here/read it from the horses mouth so to speak, not that i have to explane my self to anyone on the forum for my actions but i feel it would be courteous of me to do so hence the post.
I will be sponsering and advertiseing on both forums just as i allready do on many many more forums accross the interweb which are not owned by the same owner, some of which are landrover related some not, afterall im a business and i have a business to promote and advertise, if at the same time i can find some good friends allong the way i will do, just as i have on this forum of which im proud to be a member and sponsor of.
I personally dont see any halm with what i do and have already done for years and to add to another forum to my yearly forum Invoice list will not make any difference to anyone i sponsor now, nor will it change my views of any of the forum.
I will do as i always have on all of the forums which is input where and when i can to help its members for free just as i think ive already proved on here to a good extent. and also at the same time maintain a 100% customer service report for all concerned for my business transactions done here.
Just so you all know i want to be kept out of any of the rights and wrongs of any new forums that arrise on the web im not interested in the bickering, i sponsor forums to promote my business and give free friendly advise where i can which is what led me here in the first place.
I pay my money to the forums that are also in business in there own right to financially gain from its sponsors and advertisers fees and do my job, make some friends, help a few people out allong the way so please dont get me involved in the rights and wrongs, whys and wherefores of a new site im not interested
Pete
