Black Rat Tow Rope

Not sure this wouldn't be better on LROI site but I thought I'd ask sensible people first! Anyone got any views on the above recovery rope? I'm looking for something to keep neatly in the car as in the winter I often have to tow people out of mud but don't have my own rope. It would also be handy if it is an appropriate length to be able to tow on the road.

Any comments greatly recieved!

Pelyma, I only ever use rigid tows, we make three piece units (for storage) if that is of interest.

I also only like to use a solid rope. I had a nasty experience in my old s2a, involving a deep peat bog, a kinetic rope, and a Unimog.

It was not the way to be extracted, suffice to say that the vehicle had never travelled so fast in its life before, and it was in reverse.

Once we found the rear cross member and put it in the back, we could then check our underwear and go home!

Brian,

I'd be interested in one of them, always preferred rigid, near enough no snatching as you pull away and makes it much harder for the towed car to shunt you from behind. The one I've got is fine for normal cars but not nearly strong enough for Landy use.

Si, if you have a normal email, I will do my best to send a picture to you. They cost £80 but it is a really tough bit of kit. I use them in all my 110's. I had them BSI'd to 15tonnes. Have you spoken to Lucas yet?
