Is there anyway that you can download memory points etc. via a PC to the Disco 4 SatNav, as you can do on any el cheapo hand-held GPS ?

This would have been a great feature. But I don't think LR will do it in our lifetime.

I am currently planning a June trip and I am doing the planning on my Garmin 1490T PC software. So it looks like the expensive LR Sat nav will act as a compass while my cheap Garmin navigates for us.

Land Rover if you guys read this forum.... "WAKE UP" Your sat nav system is very wanting for real navigation features.

I have been a TomTom user for a number of years, the Disco4 sat nav is growing on me, but the inability to plan/program on a PC and upload is the biggest omission.

It's a bit of a pfaff but I have started to do the planning on TomTom/Home PC app and then transferring locations onto the Disco using the coordinates but for some reason they don't always seem to enter correctly or can be slightly off due to the different levels of accuracy, but you can always fine tune manually.

The only other thing I really miss from the TomTom is having the speed limits displayed, which is especially useful when driving abroad.

I do however really like the fact the sat nav voice guidance can cut across music being played via the ipod which it shunts to the rear channels, the green turn count down bar is very useful and I particulary like the view which shows a list of the upcoming junctions, rest points etc...

We are about to swap our D3 for a D4, as I see it there is no way of transferring our waypoints that we have saved over the years from the old car to the new one. Also the inability to bulk load POIs e.g speed cameras has been a drawback. My £100 TomTom blinds the £???? quid built in D3 satnav in all respects, I hope the new one in the D4 is better. Does anybody know if the D4 XS satnav can accept waypoints in the decimal lat lon format or is it stuck in D,M,S as in the D3?
