Santorini Black ~ should I have gone for it?

Anyone out there got their D4 in Santorini Black and regretting it?

Always said I would never have another Black car especially a large one.

Last car I had in Black was a swine to keep looking clean and must have had a White base coat so every scratch stood out like the proverbial.

Reason for asking is that it looks good on the RRS’s I see in it (see a lot) and it is growing on me more and more, now wondering whether to change my colour on order (Stornoway Grey) to it while I can?

Was a toss up between the Grey and the Black when I ordered.

As you have really said black looks fantastic if you put the effort into keeping it that way.
If I was going for new I would go for black but then the grey does look great too Thumbs Up

Ive got the Santorini Black one, its not that bad to keep clean to be honest.
A good wax coat on and it washes up with ease.

I think the wheels are the hardest to keep clean from the brake dust and this will be on any colour car so i would go for the black im happy with mine.

With all the dust coming out of the sky up here my Java Black has gone a fetching grey - best of both worlds. Mr. Green

I have a new product for this. Will test it on mine but one of my partners has been working on it for years.
Its like rain-x for paint! It can be applied to the whole car and it keeps it clean much longer as well as letting water run off after washing it.

I have a Santorini Black D3 - looks really good - and i will test a panel when i get a chance. But i think that it will be a great product to use on the wheels as its a pain stopping the wheels going brown and the chemicals 'wheel cleaner'chokes me!

Will keep you posted but in answer to the first post scratches are not easy seen i would say. Java Black was worse

We were debating between black/almond and grey/ebony. I was worried about the how hard it would be to keep clean, and didn't want to have to wash it every other day. Don't get me wrong, I think the black is beautiful when clean... We went with a black/almond D4.

About a month after we ordered our D4 and were waiting for it, we changed the order to grey/ebony (which my hubby and I realized we liked better!). We got our D4 last week and haven't looked back. 8) It's stunning in the grey, and looks shiny and new even when dirty! I don't, and won't ever, have any regrets! Laughing

Very happy with santorini black, although I admit to adding mudguards after a couple of weeks to cut down on the washing.

I have a Buckingham Blue D4 and a Stornoway Grey Freelander 2 (the Wife's).

The dark blue D4 is a bit of a dirt magnet to be honest, but I do like the colour, it does seem to show up swirls and scratches and any surface dirt more. The Freelander looks good and stays/looks cleaner longer, I don't think you will be disappointed with the Stornaway if you stick with it, but I would have been happy to stick with my Buckingham Blue also in hindsight.
