Feel dirty having just bought a caravan, even worse picked up a practical caravan magazine in the newsagent and was more embarreased than if I had bought porn
Anyway, 'van is 2.24m wide and the D4 is 2.17m inc mirrors (according to the handbooks) and my question is; do I require extended wing mirrors? My cattle trailer is about the same width as the car and is a dream to tow, and the standard mirrors are spot on.
IF I do need mirrors does anyone recommend a particular set?
Pick the caravan up in ten days time so would like to be prepared!
Thanks

Yes, you need mirrors.
have a look at the Milenco site http://www.milenco.com/mirrors.html
there are some pdfs rthat explain the law
I use the "aero" mirrors that screw to the mirror housing. the ones that clip on with elastic bands tend to slide off the D3 mirrors Duncan

I use the Grand Aero on my D3, more like lorry mirrors! and they work very well.
Just hope that they will fit the D4 ~ 4 weeks away now. 2015 D4 HSE in Corris Grey

Thanks guys - the simple aero ones look fine and the dealer stocks them. Result!
Hope you get on OK Griffmaster - my D4 HSE arrived March 1st and they had forgotten to fit the adaptive lights I ordered back in October. Used it while they built me another one and fingers crossed I will have it Jume 1st. Bet they check this one properly

believe me any help you can get to see someone creeping up yer rear end before pulling out at the same time as you're moving from lane 1 to 2 is fine by me
also great view on yer nearside when backing up

I have the Milenco mirrorr, which the dealer threw in as part of the deal when we bought the van. I have only used them once as I can see better out of the normal mirrors.
I was going to ask about the law and the mirrors, I was led to believe you just needed to be able to see past the caravan with the standard mirrors.
I know what you mean, I felt like I had sold out to the car fraternity when I bought a caravan, but it is good fun when you start using it. As for practical caravan magazine, I bought it once but had to drive to a newsagent 5 miles away in case anybody saw me

Tomorrow's the big day - dipping my toe in the caravan scene so bought a 2001 Abbey Aventura - looks like new and a good sounding spec - I can see the missus wanting to sleep in it in the garden tomorrow night, can't remember seeing her so excited
Thanks again for your help and comments
