was turbo solenoid part of the assurance update ?

Sadly our car is now sitting at Hartwell Northampton awaiting the arrival of the service dept tomorrow morning having lost all power twice in ten minutes on a trip out this afternoon. Crying or Very sad

We were en route to a wedding which would have involved a trip of about 50 miles down the M1. After we lost power twice in the first ten mins I called LRA who said please go home and await the tech guy rather than carry on. Chap showed up and took her for a quick spin and pronounced that the problem was very likely the turbo solenoid shutting down the turbo due to erroneously diagnosing overboost when cold.

My only concern though is should this have been done as part of the Assurance prog. or is it another known fault ?

No w awaiting contact from Enterprise to see what they're going to give us as a replacement - better not be an Insignia like last time ! Censored

There was a technical upgrade for the D3 Variable Vanes on the Turbo, on the start up sequence the D3 exercised the Vanes to ensure they went through the FULL open and close. I would be surprised your D3 has missed this as it is a known fault that can be preventative...

I had my turbo replaced just because of this over a year ago because of this, and I did'nt have the latest flash to exercise them, all ok now though.

Solenoid was replaced on Assurance Program depending on VIN range

Possible chaffed\not fully fitted vacuum hose will cause same fault

Ta Q86.

Tech had a look at the hose I believe and saw no problems.

Our car was a very early build so I'm speculating that it would have been in the VIN range for just about every update going.

Will get a full diagnosis today from service guys at Hartwell Northampton and should the be a bit clearer as to what the issue is.
