Aussie navteq Sat Nav DVD needed... Do the D3's have them? |
|
Hi Aussies,
Finally got my date to move back to Sydney and we're bringing our D3 (6 years now, from new) but want to know if I can find a DVD disc for Australia or even if the system will work.
I suspect it does as its the same as the Range Rover Sport.
Can anyone advise if they have a DVD based system in their car, mines a navteq with touch sceen in the centre of the dash.
Cheers,
Robin. White, poverty spec 4.0v6 model with Black 20inch alloys that previous owner fitted but I kinda like.

I have the factory sat nav in my 05 hse. It has a dvd player under the front passenger seat for oading the navigation disc. I recently updated the disc so have the original gathering dust that you can have. Of course the maps are not entirely up to date but it will let you test the system if that is your intention. Now D3 HSE TDV6 - waiting to be modified
Now 94 ES D1, 4.6, F&R lockers, 34 inch Simex's, warn highmount, plasma & HID's
Gone 87 RR, 4.6, F&R lockers, 34 inch Simex's, warn highmount
Gone 82 RR 4 door, 4 ltr, rear locker, 32's, warn low mount

Trobbo, that would be brilliant so yes please.
I'll be over in November house hunting so perhaps could get it then?
Let me know if you want any $$'s for it (or at least cover the postage).
Cheers again,

cheers Robin,
I'm moving house in about 4 weeks so happy to send it to you know if you like - just pm me your details. Postage will be about $10 so that's no issue.

Hi there, I've got a 05 D3 HSE and trying to upgrade the Nav disc. My original is v10 whereis disc and the new one I have is v15. Every time I put the new one in the screen goes black and fuzzy. I then have to disconnect the battery and reinstall the original. I've heard that a software upgrade is required for the 05 model before Nav updates can be used...
Do you know anything about this?
Cheers

I didn't have any problems loading the updated disc into mine. I have v16.
Disco 3, RR Sport and RR Vogue all use sat nav disc P/N 6H42-10E898-DD
Freelander 2 uses disc P/N 6G92-10E898-HE so I assume it is different somehow.
You dont have a FL2 disc do you? Now D3 HSE TDV6 - waiting to be modified

Hi there, thanks for the prompt reply.
The part no of the disc I have is 6G92-10E898-HD
Seems a bit close doesn't it... that could be the problem
I will check with whereis but when I rang the other day they weren't too keen on answering anything other questions relating to the current v16 (this one is v15).
Will keep you posted.
Thanks again.
