Want to buy a 2nd hand 'proper' tent. My kids want to have a sleepover style birthday party in a tent. Being a good Dad I'm trying to find a cheapish tent that can fit about 12 x 8 year old kids and a slightly dazed father.
Anyone got anything that might fit the bill that I can buy?

Try Anchor Surplus for an ex-army tent. Mine is 12' x 15' and made a great kids party venue.
