Got hit from behind this morning by my neighbor.....
Got hit from behind by my neighbor this morning while at a stop light I've never met him prior to this morning. He refused to share insurance information and then fled the scene Police wrote the report up as a 'hit and run' and are pursuing him based upon his license plate which I relayed to the dispatch officer on the phone. This should be interesting.........
My D3's damage is relatively minor, broken reflector and gouges in the back bumper. Police report says "damage in excess of $1,500" but they aren't professional estimators. Who knows.16 D4 Landmark

I came close to violence but cooler heads prevailed. I did not notice any damage to his BMW X5 but then again I was concerned with my D3 and not focused on his station wagon.16 D4 Landmark

I love that put down JJVD21, you don't even give the X5 the title of SUV, it's just a common Station wagon Excellent Bodsys Brake Bible

I don't think he knew up from down, nor that I am his neighbor. He was more concerned with fleeing the scene than neigborly introductions. A real classless piece. Set up an estimation appointment with my local LR dealer tomorrow. Will find out how much a new rear bumper cover is along with reflector I presume.16 D4 Landmark

Just give Mr Capones descendents a ring.
They'll give him a good 'smack' and put a few holes in his station wagon for you.

Repair estimate is $800. Includes new rear bumper cover and reflector. Problem is that they want to put on a brand new bumper which won't match the faded trim on the rest of the D3. I have explained this to my insurance company and they recommend a cash settlement. Since the damage is cosmetic I may go this route rather than putting on a new rear bumper that won't match. If I get a check from the neighbors insurance company I may buy something with the money that is obnoxious that I can put outside for my neighbor to see everyday. I'd of course tell him that he paid for it. I'm thinking some sort of lawn art or something that lights up at night. Ideas are welcomed.16 D4 Landmark

Update: police and insurance have spoken to my neighbor he has admitted fault. Insurance is going to issue a check to me for the damage which is fine with me since a new bumper wouldn't match the other faded trim. I haven't seen my neighbor since the incident and I presume he's embarassed as ******.16 D4 Landmark
