Will it fit ?? 285/70/17

I need to replace the 265/70/17 BFG A/Ts that gave me close to 90 000Km.

I’m thinking of replacing it with a set of KM2 of the same size but due to our Transnet comrades the BFG shipment suppose to arrived last week turned around and now I can’t find any 265/70/17 KM2 in SA.

Does anyone know if a set of 285/70/17 will fit if I do a 5mm rod modification?

Anybody running a permanent rod Modification?

I managed 98000km on a set of 245/75/R17 BFG ATs (with 6mm thread left). Replaced the tyres today with 265/70/R17. Tight fit so I do not think the 285/70/R17s will fit without a rod extension. I suspect the rear wheels will scrape against the wheel arches if you encounter cross axle obstacles. This happened on the 245/75/R17s that I used and the radius is some 17mm more on the 285s.

I believe bushboysteve has used the rod extension for an extended period previously while off roading.
