Anyone had dealings with the Colliers Land Rover in Erdington, Birmingham? I'm about to travel up the M1 from St Albans to buy a D3 HSE and would interested to know of any feedback?

On the couple of occasions I've been into the service Dept, they've been really "stuck up", almost worse than Stratstones. I havn't brought an LR from them, but have used their LR parts guys quite a bit - they've always been OK.

Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD
I have bought 3 discos from them, the first in 96 as fine, SWMBO even got a huge bunch of flowers, the second was ok. The third again new, I felt like I was a number, the delivery was late, then when I turned up after changing my insurance over, they would not release the car because they had an internal signature missing, and finally I had to wait 3 weeks for my private reg.
The D3 I purchased from Shukers, much nicer people.

When I lived in Birmingham, I used for my Discovey 300 (V8) servicing, and also for servicing my then company Freelander, no problems and always had good service with well valeted cars on return.
I wanted to try a new D2, so made an arrangement with them to loan me one whilst mine was being serviced, actually had one the senior managers cars, I did something like 500 miles in it and the only proviso was that I was asked to have it back with them that evening so the manager could go home!!!
Mind that was quite a few years ago and things may of changed since then, now I use Shuckers and always found them helpful and freindly (although I did buy my D3 from James Edwards in Chester, again good deal but a bit far to go for servicing).

As long as the price is right, you'll presumably have any warranty work donw locally (if it should require any) so provided you get there and the car is as you expect, pay the money, take it away & never see them again.........
