I'm guessing, but probably not.
You will need some form of software that can access, read the program.
You will be able to make a copy, mirror image of it but without the software that the D3 has on board, all you may see is folders and icons etc if that?ATB

Depends what you mean by 'read it'
You will be able to 'open' and look at the files in explorer, but it won't 'run' as in get the sat nav sreen image on your pc, as all the other modules, software and interface parts will be missing.
I know folk have 'copied' the dvd, and some have 'tinkered' with the files, in particular colours and start up logo etc, but it could be risky as you may easily trash it.
Try PM'ing Wiggs, he's renown as a guru on D3 software type issues, failing that give Colin at BBS a ping Never get mad - get even !!

you can read it. and back it up
Found this feature particularly useful when my 05 was in for service and I had an 09 loaner.
