Taking the front bumper off - so far so good...but there are 4 torx screws underneath the bumper and they refuse to undo. They are just not turning...are these the ones that are meant to be undone...?
Think I've now stripped a couple as well whilst trying...now what...?The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

If you are referring to the 4 screws that fit along the edge, very near to the Mantec/RLD, then YES, they need to come out John
3 won't move...1 of those is now stripped...and 1 has snapped and will need to be drilled out... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

I snapped one of mine yesterday, another head went tits up, but had enouigh space to get a wrench on it.
the remaining two came out by using the loosen it, tighten a bit, loosen it more method.
I only used two to hold it back on now and put plenty of copper grease on to try to aime removal next time.
Invest in a drill bit and screw remover.....
I think it's because the mantec plate had been crudded up a few times and retained the mud/water for longer than it would have.Bodsys Brake Bible
And all four screws sheared off... hopefully the RLD plate will go some way to keep it all in place...
Suppose I'll have to Araldite it when I remount... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

well it was off...it has gone back on...intercooler looked fine. But I cleared out about 2 years worth of mud from inside the bumper...
flushed it out
and this was hiding in the bumper and is just from one side - weighed a few kilos...
