About to do deal on D3...Few questions please |
|
Hi All
Viewed a lovely 2005 HSE yesterday.
A few question please...
What sort of a service could I expect at 122K KMH???
The steering wheel has the speech activation button, does that mean it has that function? Forgot to try it out.
If the key is removed from the ignition will this cut power to the passenger seat??? The reason I ask is, I tired the driver’s seat (worked fine). Then I took the key out, but the wife tried the passenger seat electrics. She didn’t tell me it didn’t work until we were on the way home... I’m think it was due to me removing the key????
Anyone ever have problems with the electrics in the mirrors. One mirror isn’t working electrically. I listened for the motor trying to work but noting... just wondering if it will be a cheap fix and to negotiate accordingly.
Thanks in advance
Eric

All depends how it's been maintained, as with any vehicle. With those miles, about 76K, has it got all the dealer stamps in the service book, if it has good, give them a ring, explain that your potentialy buying the car and you want to confirm they did the servicing, while your on the phone ask them about any other work thats been done there, repair or accident..... As for further reliability, well, you look after her and she will look after you, most of the time. Good luck

Cheers Steve
It has a full service history, but it doesn't tell you much in the book. I'll give the dealer a ring tomorrow.
With regards to the service, is there anything that usually needs changing at that mileage? Like timing belts that sort of thing. What can I expect to have done, oil, filters transmission oil? Is transmission oil changed every service or every second service that sort of stuff?
Anyone know about the electrics in the passenger seat? Is the power cut to the seat when the key is removed??

I have a 2005 HSE, and I have just tried the seat controls for you. The driver's seat works whether or not the key is in, but the passenger side only operates when the key is in, and in accessory position, or the ignition is on.
Hope that helps.
