New D4 arrived on Friday. Spent the weekend putting 250 miles on it and checking it out.
Definitely the right decision. Great drive, very relaxing for hauling along motorway and round the lanes it's just as good. Haven't got off road yet apart from along one gravel track, seemed to cope with that reasonably adequately too (But it was enough to get mud spashed up the sides )
Details:
XS - Nara Bronze
Adaptive Bi-Xenon
Tow pack
Reversing Camera
iPod thingy
Side Steps
Extended Roof Rails - well meant to be but slight confusion - being fitted next week or so.
Will post some pics when clean again and rails fitted.
Fuel economy a bit of a so far (25) but I'd guessed as much from this forum. Hopefully it will go up a bit as it settles in. Any it's all carbon offset for 45k so I'm still green apparently.
It shrinks everything too. Distances are shrunk, X5s look small, and my drive seems to have gotten smaller too. Weird.

Yay
I hate to disappoint you but I don't think the fuel consumption will get much better - you'll just push it more as you get more confident in just how good the handling is... I'm not reckoning on the tyre life being as good as the D3 either
