plain steel wheels for off-roading, suggestions?

I want to find a set of relatively inexpensive wheels for offroading tires; don't want to damage the factory wheels. Has anyone anywhere found something that will work?

Thanks!

Why steel wheels when used factory fit alloys are available so cheaply - well in UK anyway. Lowest I've seen recently was £40 for four 17".

Think you are being overcharged down there, old chap! £2.50 here including the curry sauce.

Al: thanks for noticing!

Another question then, what is the reason that a 17" for a D3 is fine, but in the US, it is not? We only have 18 or 19 available. Is it just an option issue, or are there real differences. I thought I had sen reference to 17" D2 wheels working for a D3.....LR3 for us.

Thanks again, i want some chips!
