Best Value Extended Warranty
My Disco 3 is just about to run out of warranty - would members like to say which warranty they have taken out, how much it cost and any user experiences?
I am aware of the Tesco warranty, but unfortunately this is no longer offered!

I've got Warranty Direct. Have been superb. So far paid out almost twice the premium on compressor, ARB bushes, alternator and some other stuff. Very pleasant to deal with. Sales are very helpful and the engineers on the claim line were helpful too. I pay up front, but the cheque arrives a week or so later. Dealer authorises the claim through 1-Link computer system, so the claims are all approved online.
Once you've got a quote online, wait for them to ring you with a reduced price.
If I have a very minor quibble, the admin side of things (phone call quote matching documents coming through) could be a little better. So just keep a record of all your communication and check your documents (as you should with any policy) when they arrive.
I've been really impressed. Had LR warranty in year 3. Would probably have gone for WD in hindsight.
IMHO it was the best value warranty around when I looked. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Been with WD since April & haven't had to claim anything. Having the 4 wheel alignment done at the mo, not covered as adjustment, fair enough as knew that. Also gearbox linkage done, £60 but with £50 excess so not worth claiming. Don't expect the extended warranty to cover every niggle & rattle, if it does that's a bonus but have it for the big things that can fail like engines downwards. These cars can be cash cows so for me doesn't bear thinking about not having a warranty.

From memory, £550 for main dealer rates, no betterment, emissions & airbags. And that's for 13 months. Some have dune better. Haggle is the order of the day!
At 4 yrs & both just over 60k miles.

Can someone please explain to me what 'No Betterment' means? I've seen it a lot on the site, but haven't got a clue whether it's something I should or shouldn't ask for!PAGODA

Over 60K, they have a sliding scale on the amount of money they contribute to parts - a decreasing percentage with mileage. The idea being that they don't put you in a better position than you were before the fault.
You can pay extra to get them always to cover 100% of the parts/labour. Definitely do it 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
