I've just been told by my local tyre centre that they cannot adjust my tracking? And that it's a LR only job.
Anyone know any different?

Had my tracking done by Quickfit and as yes the messed it up started giving all sorts of problems suspension dropping steering faults. In the end it went to dealers and needed suspension calibration steering calibration and tracking to put right what they did

Does not have to be done by LR though.
I know of 2 dealers who dont do the alignment themselves and farm it out, one to a very good independent who only does alignment and one to a Volvo dealership with a good set up.

Hi All,
I too have been calling around alignment centres to try and avoid main dealers and many have said they don't have the kit to put it into "Geometry" or "Close Alignment Mode" ??
How essential is this ??
I am having the rear wishbones (bushes) replaced next week and could do with it being aligned afterwards
Thanks in Advance

Had mine done in Southam last year £75.00 +VAT.
It had its suspension virtually rebuilt and has driven like a dream since.
Well worth it because if its vibrating it will be adding stress to other parts.
And lets face these things dont need a excuse to go wrong!

Rik,
sorry I really wish I knew.
The indy that did the suspension repairs took it there for me.
I would have to guess at South Tyres tho - they have a really big unit on one of the industrial estates.
Try googling them that may help.

Just a quick update
After TFC did the wishbones, I booked it into Southam Tyres for a Laser 4 wheel align. Didn't get it into Close Tolerance mode, but didn't seem to make a difference.
The result was all four toe readings were way out, and front camber was way out on OSF and a bit out on NSF.
Normal charge was £60 inc VAT, but they did the camber as well for £90 inc VAT.
Guy doing it was very good, explained what he was doing, allowed me to wander around and look at the display.
Kit they use is "John Bean Visualiner" which looks very similar to the Hunter kit that Pro-Align make / use.
All in all pleased, drive is so much better, goes round corners like on rails and only squeals now on corners when I provoke it
Thanks BigDave for the hint

Big Dave, Windy Corner,
Going through some alignment issues at the moment, would you still recomend Southam tyres after having the yours done by them???
