GS/XS console differences? |
|
Anyone have a picture for the GS? I'm wondering whether the XS is worth the extra as the only thing I'd miss is the touchscreen. Sat nav wouldn't be needed as I'd be doing journeys that I know very well or would have a dedicated navi with me.
If I opt for a GS it would be specced with locking diff and adaptive xenons. Is there anything that I'd really miss from the XS? Also considering a Commercial with diff lock and luxury pack.
Opinions?

The touchscreen also controls the audio/entertainment system (iPod, USB stick etc.) so the audio system in the GS is totally different.
If you have a locking diff you would be able to see when it is locked on the screen also.

Not every XS has a screen. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Got my GS 5 months old with 7k on, i wasn`t interested in leather or sat nav, and only had early £30k ish budget for the family runabout.
Although it does have Bright Pack, Power fold mirrors and Piano Black Inserts, which are factory order extras. Didn`t think i`d miss anything else. Until recently Cruise, which I`ve had retro fitted for less than an added option.
If I was to order NEW, i would recommend Bright Pack ( which includes AUTO lights, wipers, front fogs and puddle lights under the doors. Also cruise from new or retro.
Oh, and to answer your question the radio is operated with the steering wheel control anyway and the odd button in the console. Suppose a colour screen would look pretty Cars:-MY11 Evoque SD4 Pure, MY12 Defender 90 XS & MY08 Evo X RS

The touch screen is standard on the XS (D4 at least in UK) but the 4x4 screen ain't (Needs Premiun Nav option or a man with a Faultmate )

Looks like it has to be an XS. I definately want adaptive xenons which requires bright pack which makes the price of the GS too much.

I didn't want to fork out the extra $5000AUD for the SatNav system, but do miss:
1) No MP3 from USB playability
2) Bluetooth Address Book function is useless as you need to scroll through the whole addressbook - no A / B / C shortcuts
4) Can't hook up any aftermarket screen in place of the cheap one - so limits options with reverse cameras - need to have a separate screen somewhere else Suzuki Vitara 3dr
