Matt
What type of sockets are on her trailer?
If they are the older type (not the new euro stuff) she should be fine.
I shipped my old D2 over and then purchased a new camper trailer last year and the sockets matched. Even my new, but secondhand d4 come with the standard two sockets.
Hope this helps Discovery 4 2.7 SE

MadJax,Its a folding camper thats coming over and it has the UK spec 12N & 12S Sockets but her car is a 2008 Subaru Outback thinking this may be on EU Spec socket so may need a patch lead
How much did it cost you to get your D2 over?

Not much, just the cost of going from a 20ft container to a 40ft, less the part container that we needed for the rest of our stuff. say around 1000 pounds.
Then all the hastle of getting it through testing and registration, tax etc.
I think it that set me back around $2000
However I just part exchanged it for a D4 and got the same prices as I would have done selling it in the UK 4 years ago.
Regarding the Subaru, it probably has a flat socket, that can be converted to the 12N/S sockets. Our trailer and others I have towed are of 12N type.
Might be worth sending an e-mail to a Subaru dealer over here to see what they say Discovery 4 2.7 SE

No worries,
Let me know how it all goes.
Also which trailer is she bringing over? We thought about bringing our caravan with us, but did not think it would survive the heat and sun.
Looking at the local makes we were correct! Discovery 4 2.7 SE
Defender 130 TD5 - Daily Drive
2.7t Caravan

You can easily pick up a patch lead from any half decent uk Caravan dealer / outdoors place. My tint tent has the euro plug on it and I have bought an off the shelf 12N and 12S patch lead for all my tow cars.
I think it was about £20 or so.
Maybe eBay has some cheaper. ???
