Good to hear a positive response - starting to get a bit paranoid with a D4 on order and potential for problems on a car of this value!

13500 miles here, including 1000 through France last week and no problems
I think that as with all cars there are bad ones and good ones, but the bad appear to be pretty few so far for the D4

With every car you will always find someone who has had a negative experience. All I can say is after four years of having a D3 I purchased a D4. I am more than happy with the build quality and the reliability of D4. I have been in to Germany and France with my tin tent and have had no problems. The only item I had replaced was the brake pads. D3 had done 44,000 miles before I changed to D4. Would I purchase another?
Without doubt.

Thinking of buying Discovery 4, how reliable are they?
LR & reliability??
You run a LR inspite of its reliability, not because of it!!

I have a MY10 RRS and it didn't break down at all today. Nor did my MY07 D3.
