AA Warranty
---- apologies a warranty question -----
AA Gold warranty up for renewal, quoting me £680 for 1 year Gold cover, I have had this for a year, havent claimed though, includes 1 year breakdown cover.
They offered me 5 star cover for half that price, for two years.
Asked for pdf's of policy books to read small print.
The Disco is an august 2004 reg with 96k miles.....
It has a turbo whistle, and a transmission/dif/wheel bearing noise ! so i want some cover !!!
How do i get them to give me a 10% discount ????
Any comments

No warranty will cover you for faults present before you took out the warranty.
Do they cover wear and tear? Warranty Direct are brilliant - definitely worth a search on the forum 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

And as you've just admitted you know about these issues you automatically exclude these these from being available for being fixed under warranty
when mine was being service by tfc last week i told him NOT to tell me if he found something specific likely to be expensive as mine is not under warranty right now. . . Touch wood mine is still ok Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Just got to keep my miles down under 100k for next year to keep higher level of cover. Forward planning or what!

I read sooo many bad reviews about these warranties. I've been quoted over a grand for basic cover with one of them and I hear loads about them finding any reason to point to wear and tear. Lots on this forum too.
One money expert said people may as well just put the cash aside for repairs. it's all a gamble of course like anything.

Mmmm?... not so bad, just over £650... may consider. Bit of a lump to shell out in one go though.

WD cover wear & tear, and have paid out on those sorts of claims. Real price is £550 - £600 for 13 months cover. No brainer for me as there a lot of expensive things that can (and do) go wrong. But that's my thoughts, other peeps have had more luck with their D3s.

Had my D3 for about 6 weeks.
All seems good FINGERS CROSSED and it's a low miler, but I think shocks / bushes need replacing to solve kicks up the backside through seat when going over road bumps (AS seems fine otherwise) plus a really occasional faint ffffzzz sound from engine when accelerating at low speed after breaking. Who knows eh?
Land Rover say the car has one recall outstanding so they offered to do that for free and give a 41 point visual health check.
Do you think I should not get the (possibly) bad news before, or after considering warranty?!

be ware with Warranty Direct. I paid for 8 months then EGR valve packed up.
My car has full dealer stamps and serviced up to date etccc. I ended up paying to get them blanked my self as the wrote claim off as I did not have the receipt for my service (from precious owner) and that Land Rover garage in Darlington was no help just rude to me when I asked for a copy. even thought 4 times in 3 weeks they promised it was on way in post!!
Was never told I needed the service receipts as well as the stamped book to claim when took out warranty!! lol paid off the top of my head £500 for the warrenty over all and they would not pay £126. JOKE!!

They do say when you take out the policy you'll need invoices for last service & MOT Cert if you need to claim, just one of the conditions of the policy unfortunately.

I just took out the AA BRC ( breakdown recovery cover) annual cost £72!!
It covers the first £500 towards a claim in the event of a breakdown with a £25 excess
Can make upto 5 claims per year!
Not a full warranty but a good help and you can use any vat registered garage. Also I have seen first hand that they do payout!

I must have just got a really bad sales person as was very very weary of terms and conditions because of night mares I have heard.
Would have been OK if the Land Rover specialist that had serviced the car for last owner would have actually kept to his word. So 50 / 50 blame really. Just little advice to any one else that may have not known this.
