Steinbauer Chip for the D4 |
|
Just order a Steinbauer for my Disco 4 3L. Has anyone else tried this?
Its meant to promote the torque from 600nm to 720nm,
Should get it delivered in the next 2 weeks.
Any feedback would be great. Dorko

Had it on my D3 and ended up with 6 faulty injectors and a 2000 bill. Don't go that way, do a proper remap! CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

In the latest Australian 4WD magazine they compared several different performance chip. Steinbauer came on top so touch wood this is the experience i receive. Dorko

I know they come highly recommended. Lots of VAG group cars carry them. Just like you I have been warned not to use it by people with bad experiences. But I thought so many users can't be wrong. The thing with these tests is that they don't do thousands of miles......
The thing with these power boxes is that they ad something(electronically change the injector pressure) to the system as where remaps uses the current system.
A remap is so much easier, cheaper, longlasting and removeable. And I never heared anything negative about it. Why go for this option if I might ask? CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Probably because there are no remaps available for the new 3.0 ltr TDV6 in Australia. Do you know of any in the UK?

There is one, cant remmber who it is. They sell a device to plug in and download for the D3 but you have go to their agent to get the D4 one put on.
D3 kit was resonable $750 I think.
If only I could remember who they were. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The D3 ECU interfaces won't work with the D4 3.0 ltr (different encryption/protection scheme). Did they provide a different reader? And are you talking about Oz or the UK?

For the D4 one you actually have to go to them the D3 interface as you say won't work.
Available in Oz. They have a Sydney agent. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Wish I could remember the link. I thought I saved it in favourites but didn't.
Someone on here or ALRO posted it just saying something lik: "I use one of these".
No idea how they do it on the site the link to the D3 came up with a hand held interface for $750 and the D4 said you need to see one of our agents. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
