Dog odour - cleaning product advice pls. |
|
Hello all,
Just picked up another older disco as a runabout.
On day 1 it smelt of car valeting, by day 2 it smelt of damp hound....
It clearly hasnt been valeted, just masked the smell with something.
I have thrown away the thick wooly aftermarket mats, but the carpet still pongs - hoovering wont make a difference on its own.
Had a look at Halfords, they've a few spray on foam type things.
Can anyone suggest an effective method of ridding the carpets of these smells, or maybe recomend a product that will work?
Cheers
Pete May the road rise with you.
May the wind always blow at your back.
And the sun always shine on your face.
May God always hold you in the palm of his hand.

Personally I would get some carpet cleaner from Tesco, household stuff, really soak the seats and carpets and work in the fabrics, sling a bin liner over the seats, drive to the garage and use their hoover, suck all the water out....most machines will cope with a little water, and besides it aint your hoover

How old is the Disco? If it's a tdi - if you pull the boot carpet up, you might find it needs a new floor anyway 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Thanks for the help.
I have a 'blue' Henry which sucks up water.
I will choose one, try it and report back!
