Disco 3, radio on, no sound from the speakers

Hi all
2005 disco 3 with a slight problem….. the radio fired up, can scan the air waves, insert discs but nothing coming out of the speakers.
Also the sat nav/4x4 screen, has power but doesn’t go past the Landrover symbol screen…

Are there any members in the midlands or can anyone recommend a garage that know there stuff and can help to diagnose the problem

Cheers
Steve

If you have Bluetooth that would be the first suspect. (You can buy bypass loops to prove)
Or the amp under the drivers seat could be the fault

Ok, so I have found a traffic unit. Xra500030

This has fibre wires to it and going on other posts I should see them shining…. Both leads look dormant as in no colour…

Then look at the unit before the tmc in the MOST bus…

Since that unit should “feed” the tmc unit (one fiber should give light)
Since the TMC does not “get” light it is also impossible to send it to the next unit /bus or better: the loop is broken

Edit;typo

I had this problem once on my 2006 D3 HSE. Total silence.

I did a hard reset (use the search facility, if you’re not familiar with this process) and it fixed it. Never happened again.

I can’t explain how that would have worked as I don’t have a clue, but it did.

Good luck. Thumbs Up

All, thank you for the information and tips..

Tonight is a good night, my Disco now has tunes and sat nav !!!
The fibre optic was loose in the rear of the dashboard and not connect….. once inserted into the sat nav, the system came alive

Thank you all once again
