Which winch is best to fit D3

I'm finally getting round to the mods on D3. Bought a hidden winch mount from Ray with intention of fitting the Come-up 9500i winch that I had on the defender. Given the weight of disco and from Reading other posts is this powerful enough? I'd thought about the tmax or britpart 12000 but not sure if this fits the limited space?

Has anyone tried the 8274 warn xp ? Yes it would not be hidden but that would be ok.

Comments and feedback from those who have installed winches welcome. It will be used and I want the best solution.

I have always used warn 8274s on my challenge cars(uprated with gigglepin bits) but i cant imagine any way that they could be fitted to a d3/4 without looking a mess and they certainly wouldnt be hidden. The warn XP would probably be a safer bet, just as powerful, slightly slower but lowline so easier to hide

I fitted a TDS1200 from Goodwinch, its a tight fit, and the free spool is difficult to work but I'm working on a get round.

That's the issue with the come up winch tight to get the free spool v similar to others. Does the fact that it's a tight fit also cause issues with the cable / rope ? So is it too tight to fit a 12000lbs winch in space? Does the weight of Disco cause issues ?? On defender I'm used to using the 8274 and it is so superiour to other winches I know it would be a tough Fit. I can recall seeing a pic of
a big winch on a d3 but cannot find it now possibly a warn powerplant !!!

I just don't use the freespool the hidden winch option is only really suitable for occasional use, if you need to use it regularly then an exterior one is in reality a better option Thumbs Up

I am installing the same. Have the winch waiting for its new home in Uncle Rays Winch Mount tht should ship out today.

I will have to experiment with that clutch lever
