Hi, the towbar that was on my disco3 when i bought it is gonna go on ebay as we wont need it, HOWEVER how the $%^& do you get em off ? its the type with 2 long arms coming of diagonally to the chassis , i dont have a key for it either , it has a green catch with land rover on where the key goes , i think this is a genuine part so maybe if needed lr dealer could get a replacement key , either way will this stop me removing it in the meantime or not ? all i can see is the bolts coming off the arms to the chassis , i removed the black bumper cover to reveal 2 power pionts but cant see whats holding it in there either ???? please can someone give me a step by step numpty guide to remove it , & a valuation wont go a miss either
cheers everybody

You need a key. IIRC there may be a number on the lock that might help the dealer cut a new key, otherwise you are in a difficult position. Have you checked the ashtray? Lots of non smokers leave the key in there

As far as I know LR don't do keys-by-number, but a whole new lock with two keys is only £12. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Whatever you do dont go the big hammer route , I did and it took forever. Get a new lock from LR and then you will understand how to remove the old one.

you may have to drill the lock barrel if you cant get if off, even if you know how !!!
either way, its a lot cheaper than faffing around with a locksmith and spares keys.
I bought a new lock but couldnt get the old one off so just drilled the thing out !! Duncan
