I have worked out from the owners handbook that if you press the ECON button it switches the aircon OFF and the switch shows a orange light. Can someone please tell me if the 3 buttons - Windscreen - Face Vents - Footwell show a orange light when they are active or inactive? The handbook says nothing about it, I'm assuming that when the light is on it means inactive? Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.

The face/feet/vent ones light when you select them to work on their own. I *think* that when you don't select any of them the air is divided between all 3 2014 D4 XS

Cheers J@mes,
That may explain why, when I pressed the AUTO button, there was a Force 8 gale blowing my toupee up against the rear window. It was definately one of the strongest blows I have ever experienced!!!! Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.

When the climate control system is in full auto mode, both lights in the 'AUTO' (centre) switch are on. If you press one of the air distribution switches, the rectangular light goes out and the light in the switch you pressed comes on. If you adjust the blower speed yourself, the round light in the 'AUTO' swicth goes out and you'll have to scrape your syrup off the back window.
If the light in the 'OFF" switch is one, the system is switched off completely and nothing operates.
If the light in the 'ECON' switch is on, the air conditioning part of the system is switched off but the vents/blower etc still work and you still get hot/cold air (well, cold if it's cold outside that is )Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
