Another vote for the SRT tool. My independent (ex LR Master Tech) has issues resetting the counter on my 56 Disco as whatever he uses needs a software upgrade to do it and he just doesn't have the resources to keep buying the annual updates... 30 secs with the SRT tool and job done and I am still £100 up

Any Tom Dick or Harry can service a Disco 3. Even the owner, and even one under warranty can be done so independantly and still maintain the warranty as long as they do so according to the produced and readily availaible service sheet that has to be signed off on. Thus saving owners an absolute fortune.
However to complete the sheet correctly involves resetting the service reminder SIA system. Something that up until the introduction of the SRT, required very expensive diagnostic equipment.
However any owner of an SRT can freely reset their SIA system as they wish.
