Back door wont open!

I found out last night that suddenly my back passenger door has stopped working and will not open. The central locking works thought the car and I can open/lock any other door/boot. The back passenger door will just not budge from the inside or the outside.

I havent checked the fuse but assume its ok as the rest of the car opens so I wondered if there was a solonoid that could have gone?

Bit worried that its the door motor as I have no idea how the hell it can be fixed or released!

Any pointers would be most appreciated!

Search for +latch +failure, should keep you entertained for a while.

Yes I have the same problem with the front Passenger door that won't open. I did what was suggested on the forum and opened from the inside by pressing the unlock button on the dash and pulling the door lever at the same time and it opened the door. But once locked again it would not open from the outside. I have booked it in at the dealers as the car is still under warranty. Wink

Kinda new to all this and have tried to search for latch and failure without any sucess.

Apart from trying to confuse the system by pressing the lock/unlock button at the same time as opening the door anybody got any other ideas?

Did you type in exactly what DSL said in the search field ?

If you type +latch +failure, with the "+" sign you will get the results - having just done it !

I had the same problem with my driver side rear door and I had to change the lock mechanism. I did have to have quite a few goes at unlocking to get it open then I did not lock the car till I got the parts to fix it !

The motor inside the unit was dead, the brushes inside had disintegrated.

Good luck !

Ian.
