Abercrombie River National Park trip - November 10 |
|
Anyone up for a weekend of 4 wheel driving / camping with fellow D3 owners?
We're heading to Abercrombie River National Park from 19-21 November 10.
I have not been there before but it gets a good rating on www.exploroz.com.
A 4WD is needed for all parts of the park except Bummaroo Ford
The Park's web site http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/National...x?id=N0093 shows 3 camp sites that can take various size groups and are suitable for 4WD access only.
There are various ways into the park listed at http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/National...x?id=N0093
It's going to be the first camping / 4WD trip with our daughter who'll be 9 months by then.
It would be great to catch up with some of the "Bendethra Trip" folks from March 09.
Who's keen?

Big Kev,
which trail did you enter by?
Abercormbie road via Felled Timber/Brass Walls Road?
Arkstone Road from the Oberon-Goulburn Road?
Felled Timber Road and Brass Walls Fire Trail?
Is there one you would recommend for the experience?

Hi, I went in by Arkstone Rd , pretty easy going at the time .The FelledTimber acess can be abit tricky when it is wet, fairly steep I have been told on Little Bald Hill FT, haven't been their myself.Silent Creek camp ground w
ould make a good spot for a larger group. For conditions give the Parks' Office at Oberon a ring 02 63361972
