A physical on a Freelander in Worksop(S80), anyone? |
|
I am looking at a silver 2004 LHD Freelander in Worksop. Its been sold on Ebay twice for just over 4000 but the deal bounced of both times. According to the current owner both times the buyer didn't show.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150666519073?ssP...1423.l2649
The price is interesting enough for me to pick it up in the UK and import it to Holland. The ebay history makes it a bit fishy.
Is there anyone in the Worksop (S80) area who could swing by and see this car and take it for a spin?
When I come over to pick up the car I will bring a Dutch blonde or beer as a reward CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

I would be very careful.
The seller has no eBay track record & clearly is either uneducated, or English isn't his first language.
I would start by asking him for a copy of his passport & his address & landline telephone number.
Full HPI check on the vehicle essential, plus ask for a copy of the V5 registration document & last MoT test certificate, plus copies of recent invoices for service/repairs.
If he refuses any of the above I would walk away.

I have to work at Worksop this afternoon & tomorrow afternoon so could give them a call to see if I could take it for a spin before work.
If he is an iffy seller he might panic a little since I will be wearing most of my police uniform in readyness for work

Just tracked down the old auction through an Yakaz add. His previous ebay name is Maska 8383.
All his car sales have a negative feedback. With a last one stating "don't buy, Polish scammers"

Ok Pascal
I have just spoken to the seller (Lucas) and aranged to see him at 1pm today....I will reserve judgement a little until I see him but there are a few alarm bells ringing, the guy sounds east European (not thats a bad thing) and seems to be a trader of sorts, the car is at some sort of compound, not his home address.
I have dropped hints to him that I am coming to see the car on my way to work at the police station and being an officer I will need to see all the documentation before I even consider the car.
He did not seem too worried so perhaps its all reasonable, rest assured I will do as much digging as I can for you.
Large one, can you text me as many details of numbers to my mobile 07xx xxx999 [edited by admin team] so I can have a good route about on the car, I could also do with knowing the location of the numbers since I don't know too much about Freelanders or their V6 engines.

Is there any connected member that can do me a HPI check on the number, just to give me a little insight before I visit.
