Dealer Key Coding

Hi, the D4 came with a faulty key and the dealer now has the replacement ready to be coded. I have the chance to 'pop' in on my past although I'll have the family and tintent with me so don't want to spend half the day there Whistle

Has anyone had this done and is the stated 'half hour' a realistic timescale? They are expecting me and know I don't want to hang about but if it's likely to take much longer I'd rather give them the car for the day later on.

It's a small dealer and they're normally very good.

Nah its pretty quick. Tell em you 'll need a courtesy car if its going to take longer 'cos the wife 'needs' to be somewhere .... they'll sort you asap Laughing Wink A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

in reality it take about 3 minutes to code the key into the cars systems seen it happening myself on my own key

might only just take minute but if the IDS system is being used to download on another car it could take a while before one comes free

we have 2 x IDS machines @ £12k a pop and if they are not being used they ain;t making money Whistle TLO has left the building.......

Done and dusted on a drive by, pit stop took about 20 minutes in total tho I did have to unhitch the tintent Whistle

Thumbs Up to Frank Ogg! Evil or Very Mad to LR for supplying a new car with a faulty (not so) smart key!
