D3 service in inner west sydney |
|
Hi
Just wondering if people use dealers for their servicing or an independent? our D3 is up for service in a couple of months and wondered if its worth paying the extra cash and going to a stealer or if anyone knows of a good LR independent in Sydney's inner west. I know of Parnell but they are too far, so is BEMW.
Thanks for any advice in advance.

Hi Lukesky7,
To the best of my knowledge, by far the most respected LR independent is Graeme Cooper Automotive at St Peters.

Just had the 1st service ( 12,000km ) done at Purnell's - $369 all up with a hire car included for the day. That's a similar price to what I paid at Ultratune for the regular oil change service on a D3 and Sport.
Though it did take me 2.5hours to drop off and then drive into the city to work from the inner-west !! Ultratune have a city drop off and collection point on Kent St, they even give you a jar of lollies and a car wash voucher!
A full service book of dealer stamps is what buyers ( dealer included ) look for at changeover time I was reliably informed at trade-in time. Purnell's were the cheapest of all the main dealers in Sydney the last time I rang around. D4 Zermatt Silver TDV6: Premium Nav, Front Park, Bi-xenon, Hi-Ice, 7 Seat, dark as legal window tint. MAXTRAX, small shovel, snatch and shackles. ARB Portable Compressor, Bushranger X-Jack. Lovely new set of Cooper AT3's ready for action…Opposite Lock Colour Coded Bar, Runva 11XP Winch, ARB Awning, Safari Snorkel, Traxide Dual Battery System, Rhino Platform Rack & Accessories

thanks for all the replies
i wonder if i can get a quote from these guys - seems unlikely but worth a shot. $369 is as cheap as the last service on my subaru impreza!!
hire car is a nice option.
