Pre Delivery Check / known issues MY11? |
|
Friend of mine is taking imminent delivery of a brand new Disco 4. Not sure exactly which model, but I'm assuming its a MY11.
Is there a pre-delivery check list, or maybe even list of known issues with MY11 builds at this stage I can print for them to take to the dealer and check off before they sign for the new car?
Thanks in advance

There is a known issue of the two lights being out of adustment (the main lights are the Xenons and the halogen lights are the inside of the main lights). LR havn't got it fixed yet but if it is pointed out at pre delivery it may give them a nudge. It is not a big issue for most but some have been out by a lot making them quite excellent for possum spotting in the tree tops. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Thanks Caver!
Are there any other known issues..
Or known common gotchas (i.e. things the dealer may forget to do) that need checking as part of inspection before taking delivery of the car?

Others will know more than me about the quirks of the D4.
I suppose fine tooth comb over it; paintwork, interior etc. Oh and the spare tyre. Firsat time I went change mine I found it was half worn witha dented rim.
Alto got it on a swap from another dealer and replaced with a new rim and tyre. I I had checked properly I would have known. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The rear door on my D3 would not open from the inside, what I did not know was that it would not lock from the outside. So I was driving around for 6 weeks with an unlocked car. Luckily we only had all our camping, computer, sat phone plus fridge, food and BEER in an open vehicle all through the Kimberley and down to Sydney
Now my daughter has just bought a new Holden Cruze and guess what, the rear door wont open from the inside and she is in Darwin. It does lock though.

Two things that seem to have failed to be set up right a few times:
- one touch window operation; check all go down AND UP AGAIN properly
- disable rear PDC when trailer attached
Also see if the iPod lead correctly charges recent iPhones and iPod touches (didn't on early models, could be fixed by now)
Depending on model (UK XS spec) you could also ask them why the voice control button on the steering wheel doesn't do anything...

Child lock got me again today!
went to the jetty for a coffee and a smoothie with my 4yo. It was too windy so she wanted to sit in the back of the car while we waited. Buzzer went - drinks ready.
Tried to get out
I had to climb over into the front seat! And in full view of a bus load of school kids! And after I had just finished telling her not to climb over into the front as the cubby box may get damaged. Have a nice day!
