Which trim level?
Thinking a getting a D4. Which trim level have most of you gone for. Is the top of the range (HSE?) worth the extra?

Without wishing to hijack the thread, can anyone tell me if the GS and XS have voice dialling ? I know the HSE does but it's devilish expensive.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

Bob - your question's been answered in your other thread on the subject!
Dolphinboy - we went for the XS with a few options, as the HSE is so much more money. I guess it depends what you're looking for. Electric seats and the posh leather would have been nice, but we wanted the cameras and sunroof, which we still would have had to pay extra for.
Get the XS, then speak to Pete at BellAutos about what upgrades he can do! We've had xenons installed, premium nav upgrade (which includes voice control, off-road nav, etc) and the timed climate activated. At some point I'll buy the remote upgrade for the heater as well.

It really depends on how many of the options you want. As soon as you get relatively close to the HSE price then you are better off with that. If you don't want many extras then the XS will be fine but if you find you are only £2-4K away after extras then it's probably worth paying the extra.
An HSE will always sell as an HSE and an XS will always sell at XS levels regardless of the amount of extras you have specced.

As Matt has just said, if you start adding lots onto the lower spec, the HSE becomes a no brainer. That is what happened to us, went for an XS came out with a HSE with cameras and heated steering wheel, got a very good deal on the extras MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Two to throw in
- do you want a sunroof? I can't stand 'em...
- test drive XS and HSE and make sure you're comfortable with the driving position in both. I haven't been back to check, but I'd swear the interior door handles stop further back in the HSE (bigger speakers perhaps?) making the corners dig into your knee! Couple of guys at work found something similar, without ever taking a tape measure

I'm not sure it has SazzaG. I'm still non the wider as to whether the XS model comes with voice dialling. The dealer tells meI need to upgrade the audio and satnav so if anyone with an XS (minus those upgrades) could confirm I'd be very grateful. I like being able to press the voice button on the steering wheel and just yell my phone number at the nice lady inside.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
