Whats this connector for?

Hi All,

I took the front grille off today (getting brave or what) to try to loosen the headlights for a change to UK lighting and found this cheeky chappy hanging down in front of the radiator;

Anyone know what its for?

Ta everso.

Dave

Well I wasnt expecting that to be honest!!

Can you use this wire for any little extras - air horns, spots etc?

If it is the smog sensor wire (although I don't remember mine hanging down all over the place like yours), then it's connected to the climate control system.....

Maybe you could re-wire it to give three toots when the temperature gets above 25°C? Question

In other words.....no Laughing

It looks like an engine block heater.

We have them in Canada, plug your car into the electrical socket to keep the engine warm when it's really cold outside.

That cabling dosen't look anywhere substantial enough for the Amps a block heater would draw.......
