D4 rubber mats = holes in back carpet missing?

All, in my D3 I had clearly idenified holes to screw the lugs that hold the rubber mats in place. My D4 doesnt seem to have any such holes....is that normal?
cheers

Its funny you say that as its something I noticed with my D4. My previous cars have had connection points for the front and rear mats to hold them in place. The D4 didnt have them for the rears. So, they basically begin to slide under the chair in front after a while.

I would be interested to know if that is normal or not as well.

I cut some rubber sheeting from Clark Rubber to the shape of the footwells. Doesn't move and can be swept out. Idea

I have the "Premium" non-rubber mats and they also slide about. For £150 I was expecting bettrer and thicker.

Ive used heavy duty velocro to stop it sliding and curling at the edges. Its the type where one half of the velcro is more like plastic than tape. Ive stuck it to the underside of the mats and it just about grips the carpet underneath, enough to stop it sliding.

That's odd! My D4 (March 10) has the lugs to hold the rubber mats in place.

My D4 rubber mats came with a pack of fixings which you had to screw into the carpets to suit. The instructions showed to lay the mats in place and poke a hole through where the holes were with a sharp screwdriver, then lift the mats and screw the pegs in place, into the holes the screwdriver had made in the carpets, before final laydown of the mats and securing with the quarter turn clips (similar to D3).

Make the sure the rear mats are positioned correctly before making the holes as they can foul the bottom of the rear door pockets if not.

Ah, that may be the answer then - mine were dealer fitted.

The lugs are only in the 1st and 2nd rows.

Does anyone know where to get the fixings? My D3 doesn't have any lugs or fixing points in the carpets. I also would like to know where I can get some heavy duty, value for money, rubber floor mats?

Cheers
