HSE Options
Does the 2011MY include the FSH as standard on the HSE model ? There's an option for the timer etc but I don't know if it comes with the unit fitted as standard.
Thanks.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

yes - I was trying to be a bit clever with the acronyms. Recently lost my father in law and my Dad kept ending texts to my wife with LOL. He thinks it means lots of love. Having got around to telling him yet.
Anyway, apologies for my continued ignorance but, without the timer, I assume the BFG/FFS/FBH whatever thingy won't just switch on because I keep my cars in a garage and don't particulalrly relish being choked on CO gas each morning.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

No wont switch itself on unless you do use/set a timer or the remote control. It's fitted as standard to warm the diesel engine once the engine is running on very cold days. Apparently these modern diesels don't generate so much spare heat and take longer to reach normal temps. Thus the fhb minimises excessive engine wear. The timer options allow you to accelerate this before starting the car. Plus of course it warms the cabin

Thanks Richard. I'm pretty sure the XF doesn't have a FBH and it's the same engine block. All that happens is that the gearboxx changes are adjusted to keep the engine rpm bown until the engine gets warm. From memory, tha manual says hold it below 3,500 rpm and the shift usually happens at 2,500-3,000 iven when pressing on a little.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
