LR swallowing the VAT increase for three months |
|
Had an e-mail from Stratstone saying that LR will pay the extra VAT on cars ordered prior to 31/12/10 and delivered before 31/03/11. If this is not coming out of dealer margin then its not too bad.
Question for people is whether to order now or go for 2012MY where there maybe spec rises or the birth of an SE derivative to prop up sales which might be weak over H1?

...and if so what is the max discount I can expect on top of that? I got 10%+ off my D3 in 2005. I know that life is different with the D4 but what are we looking at?

We got the VAT promise plus a 5% discount - seems to be the norm at the present for your own spec orders.
We were offered the VAT promise and 10% discount on a Touareg3 BUT delivery was not until late Spring.
AND as a BTW the new Touareg3 with full off road capability is a very nice car, OK only five seats but a lot more included for your money. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Thanks. I agree that the new Toureg is attractive but I really like the ice mode that you get on the Terrain Response on LRs. I don't believe that anyone else offers that?
