recommendations need tyres fitting and wheel alignment (rg2)
Morning all,
My new tyres should be arriving shortly (ta Ken!) - does anyone have any recommendations of places to fit & balance them? I'm in Reading (A33/M4 J11).
I'm also in need of wheel alignment, anywhere local geared up to do it for sensible money? I think Reading landrover were wanting £90, where as my brother's just had his done locally in Newcastle at a dealer for £60 - which I thought was a v good price.
Cheers 56 HSE

I have used A & B Tyres Hambridge Road,of Newbury, both professionally and privately for about 30 years. They are on the East side of Newbury very close to the Racecourse. I have always had a good deal and find them very pleasant. Usual disclaimer i.e. no connection etc.

Lancaster Reading will want £90 as you say, its £50 to put it on the computer and take it in/out of tight tolerance, and £40 for the alignment.
Elite Wheels are good, I have used them for alignment on another car (not D3), and they were very patient to get it back into tolerance (it had Italian tolerances initially) I think it cost £40 something for 4 wheel alignment, they have a fancy franchised laser alignment jobbie.
When I was there I asked about the tolerance mode on landrover suspensions for alignment, they did not no anything about it, but they did have a Range Rover behind mind to be aligned, they said they always align in standard height. He also commented due to large nuts and plenty of access LR are easy to align
Bracknell Tyres and Battery are best place for supply + fit anywhere locally, but if you already have tyres from Ken (which will be slightly cheaper in any case) then why not get Elite to do fit + align?
