I know this is a minor matter but I'm just curious - a vain attempt to prevent the inevitable quips about EGRs or a critical transmission component !
Driving home I noticed a 6 inch x 1/4 inch black strip hanging down from the bottom of the top glovebox. When I was stopped at the lights I had a quick poke around thinking I'd just trapped the strap on a pocket torch I keep in there but it turned out to be a sticky backed strip of felt material around the top of the lower glovebox. I just stuck the loose end somewhere until I can look in the daylight but anyone know if its trim or just transport protection ? 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

Same 'bit' fell off mine, looks like it was an anti rattle strip stuck along the top of the hinge of the upper glove box. Anyway it's been missing now for a couple of months with no obvious ill effects

I think the HSE has an auto-fix function because when I had a look this morning it had completely disappeared 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
