I've just paid a dealer deposit for a 07 plate Disco HSE diesel auto. It is fitted with an optional in-car phone holster inside the lid of the compartment between the front seats. There is no phone though and the dealer states I will need to source the correct model of Nokia on the internet to fit as they are no longer made. Is there any way I can get my existing mobile (motorola) to link into the car's phone system (perhaps via bluetooth) to utilise the built-in functionality or do I need to source the correct Nokia model and fit it into the holster each time I travel? thanks, Edward

Edward,
The model depends on which cradle you have fitted.
You may have the bluetooth module fitted already, forum member wiggs is the expert in this area.
Do you have the red/green phone icons on the steering wheel?
Also have you searched via bluetooth to see if it finds anything? d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack

I haven't taken delivery of the car yet but yes there are red and green phone buttons on the steering wheel. I guess I need to wait till the car is delivered then see if there is a full bluetooth facility fitted. If so, I'll try to patch in my current mobile. thanks, Edward

In all likely hood it will work via bluetooth, if I remember correctly the phone kit in the cubby box plugs into the bluetooth module and the PTI unit.
So the bluetooth module should be there.
Just out of interest, what phone will you be connecting via bluetooth? d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack

If it's got the cradle option then the bluetooth system is fitted and from the 2006 model year the PTI (Personal Telehone Integration) kit was fitted as standard on the HSE. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Thanks both for your feedback. Hopefully then it should be possible to set up the car's system to utilise any Bluetooth enabled phone. Currently I use a Motorola V525 flip-phone which is over 5 years old but it suits me well as it's pretty rugged and stands up to the inevitable knocks when I'm working under vehicles!! Edward

Hi Edward,
If you have the VIN number for the Disco you can go to the LR web site
http://www.landrover.com/Microsites/GWS40M...rket=gb-en
Enter the last six digits of the VIN into the page. It will tell you which phones / bluetooth versions are compatible.

I've just tried this for my car, the landrover site says I have bluetooth, although I have no phone controls?
Downside I cannot get the car to connect to my phone???
I assume the site info is incorrect or am I missing something?
Can I retro fit the phone module easily?
I'm currently looking to fit my Bury UNI kit into the car but cannot find a suitable lead to connect to the Harmon Kardon head unit???
Any ideas.

Hi Beanie,
I am surprised it appears to be wrong for your car since its a LR site. All I can say is the site seems to be correct for my D3. It was recommend by my local LR dealer.
Has anyone else tried the site
Sorry I'm not up on the retro fitting as I have the built in unit.

If bluetooth is fitted it will be permanently on whilst keyy is in iginition so just do a search with your phone - if it's there it will say LandRover. The pairing code (PIN) is 2121
