Disabling the Alarm

Hi,

On all previous cars I've owned the alarm could be disabled by clicking twice on the lock button.
I.e: after closing the doors you click once, the car is locked and the alarm is turned on, then you click a second time and the indicators flash once more and the car should be locked with the alarm off.

I assume this is correct for the D4 as well, but I have experienced several times (on a ferry at sea) that the alarm is triggered by vibrations.

Is this a fault on my car or am i doing something wrong?

I use the small screen menu, were you can disable the vibration/boat movement for the alarm. If I recall it is noted in the handbook.

I think the D4 is different to the D3.

on the D3 you click the button twice to disable the sensors - on the D4 the first click enables the alarm but you need to click twice to enable the sensors.

I think ??

I havnt bothered test it though..

DiscoDunc is correct. On the D4, first press locks and perimetrically alarms the car, second press deadlocks and activate the interior sensors.

Therefore for ferry etc. only a single push would be wanted.

Mark.

There is also a movement sensor, which should be deactivated, for boat travel. This is done via small screen menu on dash, irespective of key fob locking/unlocking.

Thanks guys! I'll try it out.

One more question:
Which mode is activated when you lock the car via the button on the door handle when you have keyless entry?

Same process as using the fob, to enable full alarm and dead locks you need to press the little button twice within 5 seconds so the hazards stay illuminated for about 2 seconds
