Hi, i'm a new member and dutch. So please forgive me the language difficulties.
I have a D3 2005 with over 200.000km. I allready overcome some problems like turbo, intercooler tube, compressor, even strange problems with all tires. But this all history.
Lately the automatic transmition (gear) is shaking/bouncing in the 3th gear, but keeps accelerating. To overcome this I use the manually to go to the 4th gear. Some 'valve' seems to be the problem I believe. I was adviced to revise(?) refurbish (?) the gearbox. It will be completely taken apart and also modified. Cost over 3500 euro + tax. Maybe somebody has axperienced this to and has a cheaper suggestion.
Second: driving on cruise control in the 6th gear the speed of the car is changing slower/faster in a range of 200 rpm. Does this had anything to do with the problems above?
Thanks upfront.
Gert

Yes, although you could probably pick up a gearbox for cheaper than that price quoted!.
First step is to change the Oil in the gearbox and get a small sample tested for AntiFreeze.
I'll find the link to the thread you should read.
Oh and welcome!
