Blackberry phone book into D4

Have trawled through and haven't managed to find an answer, so apologies if someone goes, 'D'oh... it's here numbskull....'

I have a Blackberry (think it's a Curve 8900) and should be taking delivery of my D4 Commercial next week - I have been running around in a demonstrator for the last three months and have had the phone paired with the car simply to make and receive calls.

However, I have no phone book function...

What can be done, how can I get full function when I actually get mine (haven't been too bothered with the loan vehicle!)

Cheers all...

We paired our HTC Desire when we collected the car last month and all of the phone book went across without having to do anything - in fact we were amazed when we saw all these names that we recognised on the cars main monitor (navigation) screen.

I don't have my D4 yet but I am a Blackberry user so I am interested in this subject .... I really need my contacts on the screen.

In the Blackberry Bluetooth options there is a pull down menu called 'CONTACTS TRANSFER' is this set to 'ALL ENTRIES' ?

Let me know either way ..... thanks Confused

I have a Blackberry 8900 Curve and the latest version of phone software does not allow the phone book to transfer. I had to go back several versions before I could get it to work.

I am using (for Vodafone):

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.1.456 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.6.1.456
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.6.1.310
Software Platform: 4.2.0.127
File name: 8900M_PBr4.6.1_rel456_PL4.2.0.127_A4.6.1.310_Vodafone_UK.exe
File size: 123.35MB

This has full functionality.

Cheers,

Matt

Yes - my BB Bold 9700 - and more recently a 9780 (both on Vodafone) work fine with my D4 - including full tranfer of a phonebook with HUNDREDS of numbers in...

Mine is a Jan 2010 build car.

Please see my post above. You will probably need to go back several versions of software to get full compatability. Mine works perfectly now:

I have a Blackberry 8900 Curve and the latest version of phone software does not allow the phone book to transfer. I had to go back several versions before I could get it to work.

I have got a Blackberry 8900 and have upgraded my bluetooth module to the D4 one.

It is interesting as I was running v4 on my blackberry & d4 module. I could see the list of numbers but no names in the bluetooth phonebook.

I tried the transer phone contacts a couple of times hopeing this would resolve it, but it didn't.

In the end I found out that the latest upgrade would resolve this issue, so I upgraded and hey presto, I know have all the names and numbers in the car phone book.

So if you upgrade to;
Blackberry smartphone v5.0.0.681(platform 5.2.0.67)

this should hopefully solve the issue.

Grrr... I've got the same problem - no names, just a list of numbers on my 8900. But it seems our cr*ppy enterprise service provider won't let me upgrade past 4.6.1.199 - if I try and load v5, it tells me "no new software available". Isn't technology wonderful?

My Blackberry may be mysteriously suffering from toilet-bowl water damage soon so I can change to an iPhone.

If you pull down the v5 to your laptop/desktop then connect your Blackberry to that via data cable and you can then update from there.

Chaps.

You need to check whether your contacts are saved to sim or phone memory. If you have them saved to sim , copy to phone book and vice versa and give it a wurl.

If it doesnt work try saving to both and trying again....you maybe suprised of the outcome!!
