Hi all,
I have been installing my GVIF today.
All went relatively well but I might have a problem:
During the install I had to turn on the ignition whilst the GVIF was not under power yet. The sat nav screen was flickering white at that time.
After completing the whole install, I had an image from the camera but not from the satnav. I pulled the blue connector from the satnav unit thinking that was the problem. From that moment on, also after reconnecting the cable, I'm getting a message 'satnav not available' on the screen. The camera still does work.
I have not had the time yet to let the car go to sleep and retry.
So the questions:
1 anybody recognise this?
2 will this possibly be cured by sleeping
3 any other suggestions?
regards,

I'd check out the dip switches TBH, there is one that switches the Sat Nav off IIRC. Certainly when I put mine in to start with I got it wrong (or the manual had them going one way, and mine needed done the other), so with mine, it went black (AV1) by default, then when you hit reverse, the Sat Nav came on. Change of two dip switches and it was sorted.

Unplug the gvif connectors out of the back of the nav unit .. And put the original back in and test it
Unfortunatly you might of fried the nav unit if you had power on while you were installing it G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Unit is ok but one of the connectors seems instable.
Install worked out as desired learned a lot on how the D3 is put together.
