Hi, first post - firstly want to thank Anthony from Torq Tune for all the help with my D3 - really appriciate it! . However currently have the following major problem:
Towed a heavy trailer for 1000km no problems - day after ariving at our destination problems started as follows; Normal drive mode - after approx 3-5km when shifting up there is a jerking of the gears and revs hunt severely - seems specific to arount 4th - 6th gears. If continue driving like this - transmission failure message comes up with limited gears available "F" appears on dash. Same happens with Sports mode. If driving in Comand shift - no problems gears shift up normally no hunting of the revs, however seems after approx 50-70km that it strugles to shift between 6th , 5th and 4th - downwards especially - then also goes into TFM and limited gears available. - Any help would be appreciated

Hi - already had that done about 3000km ago - this is different from what I experienced before - not constant at all - also hunting is severe - jumping 1000 revs at time? - any other ideas - electronic maybe?

the control module (my bet) or torque converter within the gearbox, take yer pick, each as expensive as the other with the same labour charge as for inserting a complete box (which comes with torque converter and control module and gearbox and 99% filled up with the very expensive ATF, you just have to buy half a litre to top up)
Been there, seen it done club and now sporting a new complete box

Should be able to get a control module at the scrapyard? May be worth a try. Ask clintD3- he knows a great source

Have you managed to get jour problem sorted yet??
I am experiencing the same.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the cause of mine behaving in the way it did was a burnt lockup clutch, and subsequent debris going into the torque converter - very expensive . However, the pain has been dulled a bit since she is now running like new after the replacement of the torque converter, and the overhaul of the gearbox

The filter is part of the gearbox oil pan, you replace the whole thing. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

You can get a metal pan from ZF in Edenvale (SA), which will have the filter seperately. So in theory you will be able to replace the filter in the future without having to change the whole pan.
