tread patterns

is it ok to run with different tread patterns. i need to get new tyres for the back but want to swap to a different patteren ie AT, im on road tyres at mo fronts will follow in a couple of months

the sizes will be the same,

but i vaguely remember this being bad for a 4x4 is this true ?

Mixing & matching patterns is not really recommended.

The big issue is overall diameter, the wheel sensors will see different wheel speedif they are not the same which can affect ABS & traction control etc.

thanks mate i thought id read it some where, need a new tyre for the 18s and fancied the new contact AT ones from conti but dont need all four yet.
